How to install a water-cooled chiller
The full name of a water-cooled chiller is a water-cooled box type chiller, also known as a water-cooled chiller by some customers. In short, it is a chiller with a sealed box structure. When purchasing chiller equipment, customers are not only concerned about the price of the chiller, but also prioritize the chiller equipment. Today, Oklon will talk to us about the installation method and equipment key points of water-cooled chillers.
We will discuss the water-cooled chiller equipment from four aspects: first, the chiller unit equipment, then the water pipe equipment, water pipe cleaning, and unit insulation. Don't underestimate this part of the equipment, it will directly affect whether the water-cooled chiller can operate safely and stably.
1、 Equipment for water-cooled chillers (primarily basic anti vibration equipment): We are all aware that equipment must be selected in flat and open areas, and chillers are no exception. Many customers will do basic irrigation and embed four horizontal shims before installing the chiller. Our chiller unit has four feet. You can prepare a conditioning pad with two adjustable threaded holes for the feet to adjust the levelness of the entire chiller, and pour concrete mortar into the excess gap after adjustment. After the mortar has dried and solidified, the conditioning bolts can be removed, leaving the positioning bolts and fixing the chiller unit properly.
2、 Equipment for water-cooled chiller water pipes: The first is the external water pipe for the evaporator and condenser. If it is a double return water pipe, it is arranged on the same side. If it is a single return or triple return water circuit, it is arranged on both sides. The inlet and outlet of the condenser and evaporator of the water-cooled chiller unit are both bottom in and top out. Note: From the cooling tower to the chiller, and from the chiller to the cooled equipment, water will be transported through a water pump at the center. Therefore, the water pipe equipment must be installed according to the equipment schematic provided by the chiller manufacturer.
3、 Cleaning of water-cooled chiller water pipes: After completing the water pipes for the unit equipment, a leak test should be conducted on the entire water system. After the leak test is qualified, the water pipes can be cleaned. When cleaning water pipes, it is necessary to first confirm whether the placement direction of the water pump is correct, and open all inlet and outlet pipeline valves. Fill all pipelines with water, start the chilled water pump and cooling water pump, run them continuously for two hours, stop the water pump operation, drain all cold water and cooling water, and clean the water pump filter.
4、 Insulation of water-cooled chillers: When the temperature inside the unit system is lower than the ambient temperature, there will be a loss of cooling capacity. To reduce this loss, Dong Yuejin suggests wrapping a layer of insulation material in the low-temperature parts of the equipment and pipelines. After the completion of the water-cooled chiller equipment and system pressure testing, insulation should be applied to the evaporator shell or evaporator water tank, compressor inlet pipe, return pipe, etc.
